  3. that would stand the test of time:

  5. to build a legacy
  6.  
  7. to harness the power of the land
  8.  
  9. to unite the quarreling tribes

  11. a great Leader

  13. Now it required but one more ingredient:

  15. the family, the village, and the tribe.

  17. the hunt, farming, and the sharing of food,
  18.  
  19. fire, tools, and weapons,
  20.  
  21. The fruits of intelligence were many:
  22.  
  23. Intelligence.
  24.  
  25. the first faint glimmers of
  26.  
  27. and there appeared
  28.  
  29. known as Man
  30.  
  31. and finally there evolved a species
  32.  
  33. Reptiles, Dinosaurs, and Mammals
  34.  
  35. and specialization, natural selection,
  36.  
  37. And with Life came instinct,
  38.  
  39. teemed with Life.
  40.  
  41. and soon every continent and climate
  42.  
  43. and prospered,
  44.  
  45. and diversified,
  46.  
  47. and strengthened, and spread,
  48.  
  49. But the seeds of Life grew,
  50.  
  51. clinging to tiny sheltered habitats.
  52.  
  53. tiny organisms, cells, and amoeba,
  54.  
  55. the first stirrings of Life appeared:
  56.  
  57. of Fire and Air and Water
  58.  
  59. Into this swirling maelstrom
  60.  
  61. with strange gases.
  62.  
  63. and charged the atmosphere
  64.  
  65. and spewed forth fiery lava
  66.  
  67. Volcanoes erupted
  68.  
  69. Earthquakes spawned massive tidal waves.
  70.  
  71. The continents shifted, mountains arose.
  72.  
  73. and great continents were formed.
  74.  
  75. The seas parted
  76.  
  77. massive forces waited to be unleashed.
  78.  
  79. and deep inside the brittle crust
  80.  
  81. But the Sun shone upon the sleeping Earth
